Vincent Calvez not only introduced me to the world of partial differential equations, never stopped believing in me, and is the person without whom I wouldn’t be doing this PhD today. He is also a role model for his students and friends in so many different ways. On July 18th, 2016, he was awarded this prestigious prize of the European Mathematical Society, just 2 years after being awarded the Bronze Medal of the CNRS.  This is excellent news.
