Music has always been a passion for me and an inspiration, be it playing in symphony orchestras, or in chamber music ensembles. Here some musical muse to share:
Symphony Orchestra
As viola co-principle of CUMS Symphony Orchestra, it was an immense pleasure to perform under the baton of Ben Glassberg, and with internationally renowned guest conductors such as Carlos Izcaray.
Mahler’s Symphony No 1 with Ben Glassberg
Verdi’s Ouverture La Forza Del Destino with Carlos Izcaray
Stravinsky’s Symphony in Three Movements (Mvt 1) with Carlos Izcaray
Chamber Music
Chamber music is an intimate experience of non-verbal communication, and I was lucky enough to always find talented musicians wherever I go. Lifelong friendships and musical visits came out of String Theory, our Cambridge based chamber music ensemble who’s members are now researching and working all over the world.
Recording of the Scherzo-trio from Brahm’s Piano Quintet Op.34
At Caltech, I am fortunate to be part of the Caltech Chamber Music Program, and being coached by Martin Chalifour (principle concertmaster of the LA Philharmonics) and Maia Jasper White (LA chamber orchestra, founder and director of Salastina Music Society).
Our 4ier Quartet performing Joaquin Turina’s Piano Quartet A minor, Op.67.
And some house music fun with String Theory and friends.
Solo Performances
It was a great pleasure (and personal challenge) to perform Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante together with Kin Lam and the Imperial College String Ensemble (ICSE) in London.
